Another  Christian  novel?

I do consider my novels to be what have been termed Christian novels. When I began writing my first book, I thought I'd try to avoid using the story to relay much about my Christian faith and beliefs. I soon learned that was impossible. My beliefs and my faith are part of who I am and effect my attitudes, thoughts, and behaviors. I can't separate being a Christian from the other parts of my life, including my writing.
I hope that people from different backgrounds will read and enjoy my novels. If anyone doesn't believe in the same things I do, I can't change their mind with the Christian beliefs which are part of the plot lines. I know it will be impossible to overlook the religious aspects of the books; however, I think I've succeeded in writing stories which everyone can enjoy.
I enjoy reading novels covering a wide range of topics, written in many styles, and by different authors. I don't stick only to novels written by Christians or with Christian themes. While I can overlook the excessive foul language, in-depth descriptions of violence, and prolonged sex scenes, many Christians I know won't read books containing this kind of material. Although my books are about the life of a homicide detective, there are no graphic descriptions of crime scenes or the wounds of the victims. There's only enough mention made of the blood and wounds that readers know what happened and what caused the deaths. I'll leave it to everyone's imagination what happens intimately between two people. Cussing is only mentioned as an action, never in words.
Some people will say we don't need any more Christian novels, but most of the people I've ask why they say such a thing respond with "I don't want someone preaching at me while I read a story". I hope I get across some moral points and a little about my Christian beliefs without sounding as if I'm preaching. A lot of the religious aspects are brought forth to show why the characters act the way they do and as a way to develop the Christian plot line. Other people say we need more Christian fiction so they can enjoy a good read without being bombarded by the crudeness and immorality of some secular writing.
I hope everyone enjoys my stories.
