As I
read books, many times I'm touched by both the book and the author
in some special way. This is true of Mark. In his non-fiction work, he
presents God's truth in a honest, forthright manner. This truth is exemplified
through his own personal experiences and the stunning and amazing descriptions
of nature. What makes Mark an amazing writer is the fact that he relates the
facts of his life without trying to cover up the mistakes he's made during his
lifetime. He's very
honest about his faults and very humble about his accomplishments.
It's not very often that I offer high accolades to an
author. When it comes to Mark, he deserves more than I can write here. His
work is touched by and being used by God to help people who are seeking for
God's truth as well as helping those who are already Christians grow and
mature in their walk with God. Mark is also a man who not only talks about how
Christians should live, but also lives out what he teaches.

I asked Mark why he writes.
"Diverse talents are bestowed upon us in this earthly life to fulfill the
Lord’s purpose for us, which is, in one way or another, to glorify Him. In my
years on this earth He has allowed me the honor of writing in a way that would
serve to present His attributes—to shed His light in a darkened world. I am
honored to write in such a way as to glorify Him, through the presentation of
His truths through both inspirational and fiction writings, in one form or
another. This is how the Potter formed me, and what piece of clay does not
give honor to the one who formed it? It is hoped that, should you choose to
journey through any of these books, you will find them written in such a way
as to offer something for everyone. May your journey be one of both joy and
enlightenment. It is also my hope that you will perhaps be allowed to discover
your purpose in life through mine."

I
think everyone, Christian or otherwise, young or old, should read Mark's
books. He has something to offer to all audiences, regardless of where you
find yourself in life. No matter what book you choose from his non-fiction
works or novels, you won't be disappointed.
I've never met Mark in person, but it's my hope that
one day soon we get the chance. That might come in the form of a planned
meeting or a random chance out on some wilderness trail. If not then, I look
forward to meeting him at the end the path which leads to eternal life. |
